Zhamnov appointed head coach of the Russian national team at the 2022 Olympics

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR) on its official website announced its decision to appoint Alexei Zhamnov as the head coach of the Russian national team.

On February 27, an expert council of authoritative representatives of hockey took place to agree on the candidacy of the head coach. It was held with the participation of Vladislav Tretyak, Boris Mikhailov, Valery Kamensky, Alexey Zhamnov and Pavel Bure.

Oleg Znarok and website Valery Bragin will join the team’s headquarters as consultants.

The ice hockey tournament at the 2022 Olympics will be held from 9 to 20 February in Beijing. The national team will start the tournament in group B. The rivals are the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Denmark.
